Wonder how light therapy with LED devices works?

Scientists discovered the use of light for skin therapy by looking at what impact the sun has on a human skin and how plants use sunlight to grow. In principle that is how light therapy for the human skin by LED is developed and works. The light utilized is divided into tiny lights using diodes - semiconductors - and so did scientists come to light emitted diodes - LED.

Wrinkles - Aging and LED Red light therapy
For anti-aging skin treatment, red and infra-red LED light will be applied. These red LED lights which are set at certain wavelengths improve skin texture, color, and tone. As a result of its working on and in the skin the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles diminishes.

The LED light - in this case it is infra-red - in a way activates the tissue in the skin or rather the flowing of blood. And this therapy with LED light also makes muscles in the skin less stressful or more at ease so to say.

To view the working of the light closer, it is actually the skin cells that gets multiplied. This process stimulates the skin so the surface of the skin gets better and therefore the existing wrinkles lessen.

Acne and LED Blue light therapy
Acne appears when your pores become clogged or blocked and bacteria starts to grow. This process results in whiteheads and blackheads coming to the surface of the skin where inflammatory acne can occur.

Blue LED light of a certain wavelength makes that acne bacteria are killed when they are hit with certain wavelength light. The light energy also stimulates tighten pores and reduces oiliness of the skin which process leads to a less 'oily' substance. Altogether it has a rejuvenation effect on the skin.

The blue light together with red light also decreases the inflammation of a skin area which also gets less red when this therapy with the two colors is applied. The blue light can also treat outbreaks when instructions for using the LED device are carefully followed.

Age spots, hyper pigmentation and Green LED light therapy
A good alternative to lightening creams is using green LED light therapy for age spots / dark spots, hyper pigmentation, freckles, discolorations and sun damage. The light energy lightens and fades over pigmentation, protects it from future discolorations and improves the skin tone.

Human skin has a stuff called Melanin and green light from LED devices interfere the production of it. The light set at a certain wavelength makes that cells don't create too much Melanin and at the same time hinders to appear on the skin. This way the therapy can make dark spots, hyper pigmentation etc. lighter of color. It is important to stick to the instructions of the light device and if you do then you might see a better looking skin.
And isn't that the whole purpose of using light therapy through a LED device.

What evidence is there that confirms the working of light therapy by LED devices Since 2005 there has been a lot of research about the effective working of LED light. And also these days positive anti-aging effects of light-emitting diodes therapy have been clinically demonstrated. There are also many publications on this light therapy topic.

How long does it take before one sees results?
Well, it depend on the skin type, personal physical condition and more, so it is hard to tell exactly. The LED light therapy industry talks about 2 to 3 weeks, but in your particular case it can take longer or shorter time.
When you follow the instructions that come with the LED device, the general indications are that your skin would be more healthy and toning within two month. So there's no need to be impatient, Nature has to do it work in its natural pace.

Area that can be treated
Well, you can use the light therapy device on any part of your skin. Most people use it to improve the appearance of the face, neck and chest. To be a bit more precise using the LED device on typical areas: Cheeks, around the mouth, under the eyes, around the eyes (crows-feet), forehead, neck. Mind that you close your eyes when treating around the eyes. Read more on LED light for acne treatment
